So lately I’ve been thinking a lot about what makes me happy in life. School and work have me really stressed and feeling overwhelmed and so I decided to redirect my focus (for the sake of my mental health and my boyfriends sanity). When I think about what makes me happy, I first have to think about all the things I love. I love what I’m studying at school. I love yoga, dogs, good food, adventures, clean sheets, pedicures, etc.
I took those things I love and focused on those; especially the small things. I make sure I go to yoga once a week, I schedule out time o clean my bathroom and my sheets and make sure I get to spend time with my boyfriend and watch The Bachelor because those little things make a HUGE difference in my life.
What I want you to get out of this is not that I love weird things like clean sheets, but that sometimes life can get overwhelming for college girls. Especially my girls out there who work part time or take extra classes or are involved in lots of extracurriculars. Sometimes it feels like you need 4 extra hours in a day just to make it by, but scheduling things out can make a difference. And not just scheduling your usual time to study and get to the gym and do homework. Put *glass of champagne* on your calendar and dammit stick to it! You’re not going to get a D on your exam because you went and got Starbucks with a friend and you chatted a little more than you studied. Enjoy life, you only have one chance to
